Summer Camps

Ages: 8-18 (unless otherwise stated)
From very beginner to advanced

All camps are run Mon – Fri (not overnight)
Held at the home & gardens of Yvonne Haskins
All camps are $300 and require a $150 deposit to secure a spot

​A supply list will be provided for each camp
One (1) T-shirt per girl per summer will be provided
​
Girls can attend as many camps a summer as they would like

New girls must attend a Proverbs 31 Camp (Week 1 or 2) ​before attending any of the other camps. After attending a Proverbs 31 Camp, you are a Rubies Girl and are invited to attend other summer camps and weekend classes (offered on several Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year).

Proverbs 31 Camps

​Girls will learn about cooking, crafts, sewing, decorating, & more. At the end of the week (on Friday), there will be a mother-daughter dinner garden party that the girls will plan, cook, decorate and carry-out themselves. Some supplies will be provided. A basic sewing kit, some other supplies, and food will also be needed (a supply list will be provided).
Sign up fast because these spaces always fill quickly! If these spaces have already filled, check back frequently for spots that may become available if other girls change camps or are unable to come. 

June 17 – 21

Project Runway: Wool Edition #1

This camp is focused on preparing Rubies girls for the annual NC Make it with Wool sewing competition. This competition is a highlight for many, as it greatly expands knowledge and skills in sewing and tailoring. For anyone interested in participating in the 2023 competition, this prep week is a must to presenting a winning garment! Girls new to sewing are welcome to participate and will complete a simple skirt!​

June 24 – 28 – FULL/WAITING LIST

Sensational Summer Sewing

This camp is for sewers with any amount of experience! Based on skill level, participants will make a variety of summer/beach projects ranging from headbands and beach cover-ups to beach towels and bags. During the week, girls will practice using patterns, sewing on different fabrics, and attaching notions. 

July 8 – 12 – FULL/WAITING LIST

Bon Appétit

One of the most popular camps every year! Not only will girls learn the basics of cooking terminology and technique, but they will also hear from multiple teachers with different cuisine expertise. Each day will provide opportunity to gain cooking confidence, expand their palates, and gain new recipes to serve their family and friends.​

Cut Up & Quilt

Let’s have a blast while designing & making beautiful quilts! Great for any level of experience. Whether you are learning to make your very first lap quilt or are advancing to a bed quilt or quilted embroidery project, you will be challenged at whatever level you have made it to so far!
