Read what our Friends have to say!

“My daughter has been a part of Rubies since 2018. She started by learning various life skills and now mentors other young girls. The Rubies program builds strong, confident young women in all facets of life. My favorite part is the excitement seen on the girls’ faces when they have completed a project.”

“My daughter first attended a Rubies Camp two years ago. She was hooked from day one! Since then, the camps and Mrs. Haskins have become staples in our lives and something my daughter looks forward to. Once a camp date is announced, our schedule revolves around that date.”

“Yvonne’s Rubies camps have taught my daughter the lifelong skills of sewing, cooking and gardening while memorizing Bible verses and making new friends. It didn’t surprise me at all when my daughter announced that she plans to ‘own a sewing store and be Mrs. Haskins when she grows up’!”

Hello fellow moms of Rubies girls,
Just a plug for the Dividers Class: if you haven’t attended one, I highly recommend it. I didn’t fully understand the Rubies Girls Clubs concept until we put the girls’ binders together and now I get it. Vast amounts of coolness. Makes me wish I had this when I was a kid.
Cheers,

“I am so impressed with what my daughter has learned as a Rubies Girl. Everything from etiquette, meal preparation, and using her hands for good and beautiful works have been invaluable lessons. Participating in Princess Night holds my favorite memories so far. The opportunity for her to reflect and display her accomplishments throughout the year creates a sense of pride and motivation to continue her hard work. The experience of family, community, and support provided by Rubies Girls’ Clubs under the gentle guidance of Mrs. Haskins is an honor to be a part of.”

“My daughter began Rubies camp the summer between 2nd and 3rd grade. Many camps later, she is still just as enthusiastic about it now as she was then. She is almost 11 years old now and can sew, cook and craft independently. She has taught me so much. She has a close relationship with Mrs. Haskins, one that her and I both treasure. We do not have extended family near us and Mrs. Haskins has filled that up with her kindness, patience (wow, does that lady have patience) and sharing her love of the Lord. Mrs. Haskins and the Rubies camps have not just been good for our daughter but good for our whole family.”

“My 13-year-old daughter has attended Rubies camp for the past two summers. I am unable to put into words how precious this summer camp is to my daughter. She looks forward to it the entire year. My daughter has learned numerous God-serving and self-sufficient lessons in a patient, nurturing environment. We love this program. I would highly recommend!”

“Moms are supposed to teach their daughters cooking, sewing, how to wear their hair, how to buy a bra, how to become a woman. This wasn’t something my mother could do naturally with me. I learned things from friends and watching old classics like Little House on the Prairie, and Anne of Green Gables – silly but I loved them. I became a good cook over time…lots of hockey puck biscuits and dry pork chops, but I got it. I love my role as a wife and mother. I treasure it as a gift from the Lord. However, there are things I want my daughter to know that I never learned and that’s where the Lord directed us to Rubies.”
